Arlo is a finalist in the 2023 Wellington Gold Awards

Arlo is a finalist in the 2023 Wellington Gold Awards and we couldn’t be more thrilled! A finalist in the Technology Gold category alongside four other top-notch technology creators in the Wellington region – Global Seismic Data, Medicly and Upstock.

The idea for Arlo was born from founder and CEO John Mitchell’s vision in 2007 for an easier way to manage training. A tool that could streamline administration, grow registrations and transform the way training was done forever. Arlo is a complete system for commercial training providers to manage and grow their businesses. From the CRM, to the website, to scheduling, online registrations, course management and more – all the way to invoicing.

Now with customers in over 70 countries, processing $500m+ in transactions every year, 54 staff, and 3 offices (NZ, UK, Canada), Arlo is the realisation of that vision.

Another big achievement is our brand new HQ. We have huge international growth, customers from all over the globe and we’re generating the vast majority of our revenue overseas. We now have offices in Wellington, London and Vancouver, and data centres in Sydney, Oregon, Dublin, Montreal, but Arlo CEO and founder John Mitchell decided to open our brand new global HQ right here in Petone, Wellington. Close to where he originally founded the company – out of his garage in Lower Hutt!

“The Wellington Gold Awards are a showcase of the region’s excellence and enterprise of businesses and entrants are always of extremely high-calibre. To be recognized alongside these talented businesses is nothing short of a privilege” says CEO John Mitchell. “There was a record number of entries across all categories this year, which makes this achievement even more remarkable.”

What we do goes way beyond developing a piece of software – our purpose is ‘empowering the delivery of great learning’. And our next big goal is to enable training providers to sell more than $1b in courses every year through the Arlo platform by 2026. That’s a monumental contribution to global learning and development!

Abbie O’Rouke and Paula Echavarria represented Arlo at last night’s event at Te Wharewaka o Pōneke on Wellington’s Waterfront, where all 52 finalists were announced.

The winners will be announced at the Embassy Theatre on August 23 and we can’t wait for a night of celebration with Wellington’s finest business people.

Arlo was also a finalist in the Wellington Gold Awards in 2021 in the Cyber Gold category. Our nomination focused on our pivot to live online in the midst of COVID – supporting our customers with a Zoom integration and supporting resources such as written guides, webinars, government grant information, and even financial reprieve in the form of credits and discounts. We’re excited to be back again in 2023 to celebrate our international growth.
