Hi Arlo Community!

I’m Jonny and I’m here to fill you in on our latest product release. Let’s go!

Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

Keeping your customer data safe is a top priority, so it’s awesome that Arlo now supports multi-factor authentication.

MFA adds an additional layer of security to your Arlo management platform and mobile app, as is becoming an industry standard for software that contains sensitive data.

Once enabled, your team will need to present two forms of evidence to gain access to Arlo – a code from an app on their mobile phone, as well as their password.

MFA works with all the common authenticator apps, so if you’ve already got one on your phone, then you can use that, otherwise download one for free.

The choice is yours about how you implement MFA. You can make it mandatory or optional for users, or leave it disabled.

We think this extra level of protection will go a long way to keeping your data secure.

Single Sign-on (SSO)

Let’s talk about another acronym, SSO, or single sign-on.

SSO let’s you use a single login to access multiple systems. It’s also great if you need to verify someone – for example, to confirm whether they’re a valid student, member or employee.

You’ve been able to use SSO on your checkout for a while. Now you can do the same with Arlo’s customer portal.

This means you can offer a seamless journey with an existing login… from registration, to your customer portal, and onwards to an LMS. It’s a beautiful experience that your learners will love.

If you’re already using SSO in your checkout, it’ll automatically work on your portal. And if you have an Identity Provider and want added it to Arlo, contact our support team.

Finally… if all of this is new to you, we recommend you get your tech team involved – as this can be a complex area.

Learning Design service

Thanks for COVID, we spent a lot of 2020 talking about elearning, blended learning and Learning Management Systems.

Arlo integrates with a number of elearning systems and they’re relatively easy to adopt.

Customers have told us the one of the hardest part of their online journey was taking their instructor-led content that was designed for the classroom, and translating it into engaging self-paced learning modules.

That’s why we’re now offering a learning design service! Our team of experts can help you set a strategy to navigate this new training environment, develop self-paced elearning content that complements your instructor-led sessions, and upskill your team so they can do it themselves.

Preview: email branding

Finally, in the next release we’ll be giving you more control of how your Arlo emails look.

Soon you’ll be able to add your branding to the dozens of automated emails that are sent from Arlo every day.

But more on that next time.

Conclusion

That’s the end of this product update.

The changes mentioned earlier as well as some minor enhancements, have been rolled out to your platforms.
